Citation Data in QUT ePrints

From this Thursday 10 February 2011, QUT ePrints records will be displaying citation data obtained from Elsevier Scopus and Thomson Reuters Web of Science, alongside full text download statistics. Soon there will also be a link to the Google Scholar record. This will allow QUT authors to easily obtain citation information, which is a measure of research impact, for their research outputs. It will also allow world-wide users of QUT ePrints to obtain citation information at the point of need. Browsing by author name will present all papers with citation information from that author in a single list. Below is an image of how this information will be presented in a brief and full QUT ePrints record.

Check your citation counts on iPhone! – Scopus Alerts Lite (Institutional subscribers version)

Elsevier Develops Scopus Alerts (Lite) iPhone Application to Help Researchers Stay Up-to-date while On-the-go.  Iphone App

The new application, which is available on iTunes and the Apple App Store globally, gives iPhone users the ability to find and display abstracts and reference information from the Scopus database, which covers 18,000 journals produced by more than 5,000 publishers worldwide. The app is designed to help eliminate the need for scientists to seek out a desktop or laptop computer when seeking quality research data while travelling, attending conferences or commuting to and from work.

Application features include the creation of search and citation alerts as well as the ability to save favorite abstracts and add notes. Further supporting collaboration among researchers, the app also allows users to share search results and links to favourite articles, via Email and Twitter.
