Celebrate Library and Information Week with the Espresso Librarian!

During 24-30 May we are celebrating Library and Information Week by making QUT Library more accessible.

Expect to see librarians out and about in your favourite coffee spots on campus.

Drop by for a consultation during Library and Information week and get a free coffee at Artisans, GP,  Monday – Friday between 10:00am – 11:30am.

There will be signage indicating the librarian’s presence.

EndNote X3 now available

QUT Library now provides access to EndNote X3.0.1 (Version 13).

Locate QUT Library’s EndNote page at http://www.library.qut.edu.au/services/endnote/.

You may download EndNote X3 from this page or alternatively ask at the Library Help Desk to borrow the EndNote X3 CD for Windows or Mac (beware as they are heavily borrowed).

If you do decide to download from QUT Library’s website follow the instructions carefully to ensure the successful installation of the software on your computer.

Reminder that QUT Library provides a training session entitled EndNote Essentials to assist you in gaining a basic understanding of EndNote. PLEASE NOTE THIS TRAINING IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS AND STAFF, THOUGH PLENTY OF SELF HELP IS AVAILABLE AT QUT LIBRARY’S ENDNOTE SITE.

Study Solutions: A new learning support service for students

QUT Library has launched a new service entitled Study Solutions!

Study Solutions allows students to book individual appointments to receive assistance across all aspects of their study, learning and research from both an academic skills advisor and professional librarian for up to 30 minutes.

Students may books appointments from the QUT kickSTART, studySMART site at http://www.kickstart.qut.edu.au/

Any student may choose to visit Study Solutions – a staff referral is not necessary.

The service is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s from 11:00-1:00 pm in every campus library.

At the GP Library the sessions are conducted in the Course Reserve areas on Level 3.

Students can bring topics, assignments or tasks and facilitators provide targeted assistance.

Study Solutions is NOT for editing and proofreading.

QUT Library has launched Studywell!

Studywell provides a host of excellent resources to assist students gain many of the academic literacies so critical to completion of their assessment and for their future working careers.
